Studio Exhibition

October 5 & 6, 2019
October 19 & 20, 2019
10am – 5pm
Millbrook, Ont
Fall greetings from my Millbrook studio.

I am happy to announce that I am having a big studio exhibition over two weekends. The 5th and 6th of October and again on the weekend after Thanksgiving, the 19th and 20th of October.
Friends and collectors from the Toronto and Peterborough area, mark the dates on your calendar. I’ve included my Ann Arbor and Birmingham, Michigan mailing lists, so if you are up for a fall road trip I would be happy to see you as well.

It’s been 3 years since I swung open my studio doors to show my artwork and my process. I have been cutting back on my shows in the United States to focus on an exploration of techniques that will result in a new body of work.  It still reflects my continued inspiration from the landscape and nature, but is presented in a new way that allows me to get my head out of the acid etching fumes and yet retains the qualities of my intaglio prints.  In any case, I need to reclaim more space in my studio and I look forward to rehoming many pieces.

So, if you have ever thought of acquiring my artwork or visiting my carriage house studio, this fall season is the perfect time.  There will be etchings galore; from my framed art storage racks, my print drawers, etchings never exhibited before, some working proofs as well as pieces returning from exhibitions.  I will also have some of my new work in progress for you to have a sneak peek at and as a way to thank you for your continued support, there will be special prices on some of my artwork.

While visiting my studio, I highly recommend making some time to walk the beautiful Millbrook Trails.  There are various loops you can take ranging from 45 minutes to any number of hours.  I will have some trail maps available here at the studio and I can direct you to some of my favourite spots which have found their way into many of the etchings which you will see here.

I have enjoyed a wonderful summer working on our property, going camping and taking a trip out to Nova Scotia with Evelyn to visit one of our kids and two grandkids.  Below are a few pictures from my explorations out there as well as a few images of my etchings from my drawers which will be available.
Looking forward to seeing you at my studio. We have a long laneway but there is a white post at the entrance off King Street West with the number 53 on it.

Click here for a map and feel free to call me for any further information.

Best wishes,
George
