George Raab ArtworkAnother opportunity to purchase my etchings Spring greetings from my Millbrook studio.
I hope everyone is well. Here in Ontario we are in still a Covid lockdown, getting the number of cases back under control. Most of us have had our first shots and are so looking forward to getting the next one in July. I don't know about the rest of you but like so many I am just now getting my mojo back, creating new and different work. The beautiful spring weather we are having right now is not helping! It has not been completely quiet in the studio. I have managed to get a lot more available etchings posted into the shop on my website, and I have also recently finished a number of commissions which have kept me rooted. I miss my grandchildren out on the East Coast, my art fair artist friends and being out on the road traveling to shows across the United States. But having all of this time at home and in my studio has given me the opportunity to really appreciate how fortunate I am. I hope you find something in the shop that you like. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions about any of them. I will continue to add pieces to my website, so check back often. You can check it out here. I have added a few pictures below of the spring wildflowers around my studio, they along with the birds and wildlife they attract give me great pleasure. Sending my best wishes and look forward to hearing from you, George How the Zoom world sees me now Another opportunity to purchase my etchingsGreetings again from my Millbrook studio.
Last time we were in touch, I mentioned that besides the framed etchings that I have available in the studio for sale through my online catalogue. I also said that I had gone into my print drawers and gathered up some of the small etchings I have done over the years and I would be launching my online shop where you could purchase them. I am excited to announce that the shop is now live. Please go and have a look and check back in the shop often, as I will be adding more etchings soon. You can check out the online shop here. Happy Holidays, stay safe and well, George Holiday greetings And an exclusive opportunity to acquire my etchings Greetings to all from my Millbrook studio.
I hope you are keeping safe and well. Here, Evelyn and I are being careful and during these isolating times are fortunate to live in the little rural town of Millbrook, nestled in a picturesque valley. With travel restrictions and art show cancellations I have been trying to make the most of the time on my hands and to continue to be creative in my studio. It was a treat to be able to spend a good chunk of that time working on our property over the summer. The shovels, chainsaw and my body had a good workout and I even managed to get away on a long wilderness canoe trip in Algonquin Park. I have posted a few pictures below and there are more on my website. No surprise but I have many framed etchings from previous art shows and gallery exhibitions in my studio now, and I would like to share them with you. All of this artwork is for special sale. You can see a few of the pieces included in the catalogue below, they are all framed as you see them and ready to go. I have also gone into my print drawers and gathered up some of the small etchings I have done over the years. I will be making them available for sale in my new web store that I am working on right now. I will be sending you a link in the very near future so stay tuned. I plan on getting back into the groove and regularly posting images of my etchings and photographs on my social media sites and my website. Check in now and then and don't hesitate to get in touch. George Upcoming Show:One of A Kind Show, December 5th – 8th Chicago, Illinois. Greetings from my Millbrook Studio,
This is just a heads up to let you know that I will be back exhibiting at the One of A Kind Show in Chicago next weekend, December 5th – 8th. You will find me in Booth # 3056. For more show information, visit https://oneofakindshowchicago.com/holiday/attend. I am happy to provide you with this link to free tickets to the show. https://oneofakindshowchicago.tix123.com/?promo=seemeatooak2019. It has been a busy fall for me and I am happy to bring some new work as well as some gems from the depths of my print drawers. The show is always a wonderful kick-off for the festive season and I have created a series of smaller hand coloured landscape etchings for the occasion. My walls will be full as I will also have works that were featured in an exhibition last month. There is something for everyone on your list and I will be offering some special end of the year pricing so I can go home with a lighter load and have a fresh start in the studio for 2020. Below are some of the smaller works that I will be bringing with me to the show. Upcoming Show:Waterfowl Festival, November 8th – 10th Easton, Maryland. Greetings from my Millbrook Studio,
This is just a heads up to let you know that I will be back exhibiting in The Armory at the Waterfowl Festival next weekend, November 8th-10th. For more show information, visit www.waterfowlfestival.org. I am looking forward, as always, to coming to the Eastern Shore. One of my favourite places! This year will be bittersweet for me as one of my favourite people who for many years was a part of the Fine Art exhibition in the Gold Room at The Tidewater Inn and more recently at The Armories, has passed away. Terri Duvall was an exceptional woman with a radiant smile and endless compassion. Always ready to ensure we artists felt welcomed, she was willing to help in every way. Her spirit lives on and we will all miss her. That aside, I look forward to seeing all of my artist friends and collectors again. I will be bringing some new work as well as some gems from my archives. Below are some images of work that I will have at the show, some from the Easton area. See you next weekend. George Studio ExhibitionOctober 5 & 6, 2019
October 19 & 20, 2019 10am – 5pm Millbrook, Ont Upcoming Show:Lakefront Festival of the Arts, June 21 – 23 Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Greetings from my Millbrook Studio, This is just a heads up to let you know that I will be exhibiting at the Lakefront Festival of the Arts in Milwaukee next weekend. You can find me in Booth #136. For more show info, click here. It’s been a rather cool and wet spring here in my neck of the woods but today the sun is out and my studio (in the background) is surrounded with fields of fragrant blossoms. Also this spring was an excellent trip to Portugal. Lisbon, Porto, Monsanto, Cintra and every winery en route. That’s Evelyn enjoying the vineyards. To see more pictures from the trip, click here. I thought I would show a few pictures of my process in the studio. Here are a few almost black and white etchings that I will be bringing along to the show. I look forward to seeing you at the show!
Best wishes, George. Upcoming Solo Exhibition: Peace and solace, mystery and primal longings; a celebration of our natural heritage. Pierre-Léon Gallery, Toronto April 1 – 26, 2019 Toronto, Ontario Artist Reception April 17th, 6:30pm Greetings from my Millbrook Studio,
I will be exhibiting my work in the Pierre-Léon Gallery at the Alliance Française in Toronto. The gallery is located at 24 Spadina Road and the hours are Mon-Thurs 9:00am – 6:00pm, Fri-Sat 9:00am – 4:00pm. Click here for a map. I was happy to be approached by the gallery. Many of you likely do not know that I was born in Marseilles, France where my parents were active in the Maquis (French Resistance) during WWII. This exhibition perhaps will validate my having a French passport. Hanging in the show will be both current etchings and some from my early years, but all of them are impressions (no pun intended) from the natural environment as the title of the show reflects. I hope you will be able to drop by. Wishing you a happy spring, when it finally arrives. George |
